Our Goal

is to inspire our community to choose or maintain a healthy fulfilling  life for the entire family. We aim to accomplish this by offering health and healing workshops, classes, events, and support to maximoze each family’s potential and well-being.

Join a Mid-Island Y JCC organized group of walkers led by a certified health coach. Walk and talk about suggested wellness topics.

Wellness Lectures

Stretch Lab offers unique solutions to flexibility. This demonstration will show you stretching techniques instructed by trained flexologists to improve sports performance, increase range of motion and improve relaxation.

Modified Weight and Strength Training – on going

Fitness class especially designed for those living with MS or Parkinsons
to strengthen core and lower body.

Pathways To Parkinson’s

A Wellness Program for People Living with Parkinson’s
Join us for an 8 week series of educational lectures, support, and exercise. Each day lunch will be provided during which time participants can socialize with others who are also living with Parkinson’s and receive support from those who know best. Then enjoy an educational lecture on disease and treatment related issues including balance, art therapy, music therapy, and dance; just to name a few. Each session will end with Rock-Steady Boxing Class.
Pre-registration is required.
This program is supported by a Community Grant from the Parkinson’s Foundation.

A boxing class especially designed for people living with Parkinson’s disease. Led by Michelle Weinstein, licensed in and experienced Rock Steady trainer.
Boxing can promote optimal agility, increase speed and muscular endurance, provide better balance, hand-eye coordination and footwork. At Rock Steady, the opponent is Parkinson’s disease.

Adaptive spin class offered in our socially distant spin zone.

Aqua Therapy

This unique personal training option targets the individual with balance issues as well as muscle weakness. Improve tone and strengthen body parts using weights and bands in our heated pool. Motorized Chair access is available for non-mobile participants.

Pickleball – Fall Session

For Ages 18 & Over
Come in from the cold and play on our indoor courts.
Pickleball is a combination of ping pong, badminton, and tennis
and played as a slow or fast-paced competitive game.

Learn the dink, drop and serve. This one day clinic, taught by a certified ITPA Instructor, will get you started on the road to playing the fastest growing sport in the U.S.
